HARRIS COUNTY — On May 22, 2019, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the Popeyes Chicken located in the 20000 block of the North Freeway in reference to an Aggravated Robbery.
According to police reports, upon deputies arriving, store employees advised that when they exited the business to empty the trash, two male suspects armed with handguns approached them.
The suspects then forced the employees back into the store where they held all the employees at gun point and demanded the money from the safe and registers. Once they obtained the money, they fled in a vehicle.
Although the suspects were wearing hoodies and face masks, several employees recognized both suspects as students they go to school with. Although they did not know their names, Constable Deputies were able to use this information and quickly identify them.
Both suspects were found to be 16 years of age and the Popeyes they robbed was located directly across the street from the high school they attend.
“Both juveniles were arrested and booked into the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center charged with Aggravated Robbery,” said Constable Mark Herman.
