CYPRESS — Precinct 4 Constable deputies arrested a man who reported that he killed his wife yesterday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office stated: On September 20th, 2020, at approximately 7:40 a.m., Harris County Pct. 4 Constable units were dispatched to 14651 Philippine Street in reference to a 911 call where a man reported killing his wife.

Pct. 4 Constable units arrived on scene and located the complainant, Elizabeth Hernandez, with obvious signs of trauma. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Her husband, Arnold Garcia, was taken into custody at the scene without incident. Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Investigators were called to the scene and attempted to interview Garcia, who refused to make a statement about the incident.

Investigators contacted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and requested a charge of murder against Garcia based on the evidence at the scene and his admissions to killing his wife. The District Attorney’s Office refused to accept murder charges and but did accept charges of Assault/Family Violence pending an autopsy.

Garcia was processed and placed into the Harris County Jail without incident.
