Precinct 4 Constables arrest TJ Maxx shoplifters

SPRING — On May 22, 2019, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the TJ Maxx located in the 6500 block of the North Grand Parkway West in reference to a known shoplifter at the business who had an existing criminal trespass warning from the property.

According to police reports, upon deputies arriving, they observed a TJ Maxx loss prevention officer attempting to detain the shoplifter and a juvenile in the parking lot of the business. Both suspects assaulted her, causing minor injury and attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle that was waiting for them.

Deputies quickly stopped the vehicle and detained all of the occupants. The driver was identified as Xavier Navarro, and the occupants as Rebecca Rangel and her juvenile daughter.

Further investigation revealed they were all in possession of several stolen merchandise from the business totaling over $200.00 and other apparel items suspected to have been stolen in other pending theft cases in the area.

“Rebecca Rangel and Xavier Navarro were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Robbery-Bodily Injury,” said Herman. “Rebecca Rangel’s bond was set at $30,000.00 and Xavier Navarro received No Bond out of the 180th District Court. The juvenile was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center, also charged with Robbery-Bodily Injury.”
