HARRIS COUNTY — Investigators with Constable Ted Heap’s Office have arrested two suspected drug dealers and charged them with the sales and distribution of a sizable amount of crystal meth and heroin.

Matthew Cole, 40, and Zachary Rothenberg, 32, were arrested on Tuesday, October 23, after a surveillance operation at an Extended Stay America hotel in the 11100 block of the Katy Freeway.

Precinct 5 narcotics investigators, with the help of K-9 units, CID and DPS agents, found more than 10 ounces of crystal meth, 1 ounce of black tar heroin, and several thousand dollars in their possession. The two suspects also were in possession of Xanax, liquid promethazine and marijuana.

Cole and Rothenberg have been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Both are being held in the Harris County Jail. Cole, who has multiple drug convictions on his record, is being held without bail.
