Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a Precinct 5 deputy?

Registration is now open for our next Citizens Police Academy, which begins on September 27.

The “cadets” will take part in classes every Thursday night in an 11-week training program.

They’ll learn about everything from investigations to hands-on use-of-force training. The academy includes one night at a live fire range and one ride along with a Precinct 5 deputy on patrol.

The Citizens Police Academy is offered twice a year. Classes fill quickly and limited seats are available. If you anticipate missing more than one week of class, please wait for a future class to register.
