SAC camps return to CFISD Monday

CYPRESS — In response to the latest twists and turns in the reopening of Texas public schools, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is slated to resume Strength and Conditioning camps for its 12 high schools on Monday, Aug. 3, 2020.

This decision was made in consultation with senior leadership and the general counsel after reviewing updated guidance from the CDC, local health officials, TEA and the Texas Attorney General,” according the series of three tweets announced earlier this afternoon. “All activities will proceed with the previously established health and safety protocols for each activity.”

The district added that all summer activities, including SAC and sports specific training are voluntary.

According to the UIL, schools in Conferences 1A through 4A will be able to start two-a-days for all fall sports on Aug. 3, however Class 5A and 6A schools must wait until Sept. 7.

CFISD schools are currently scheduled to begin on Sept. 8.
