Safety and Security committee set to meet, mainly in closed session


Editor’s note: The meeting date was delayed a week due to CFISD closing for the flooding that was expected from Tropical Storm Beta earlier this week.

CYPRESS — The Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Safety and Security Committee is slated to meet tomorrow, Sept. 29, 2020, at the Berry Center at 1 p.m. to review three new items, and adopt a new drill schedule and emergency operations plan.

All three discussion items may be discussed in closed session, so most of the information will not be made public.

The district will review a new emergency management suite from Navigate360. The Texas School Safety Center, from Texas State University, has recommended a new emergency drill schedule. Additionally, the committee will review a new district emergency operations plan.

The committee may adopt a new emergency drill schedule and a new district emergency operations plan.

The next committee meeting is slated for Dec. 16, to focus on psychological first aid training.
