HARRIS COUNTY — According to police reports, at approximately 2 a.m. on the morning of March 16th, 2019, a maroon 2005 Mercury Sable was traveling northbound in the 14900 block of State Highway 249.
The Mercury was being driven by a 28-year-old male, and a 22-year-old female was seated in the front passenger seat.
At the same time, a white 2016 Chevrolet Impala was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes in the 14900 block of State Highway 249. The Chevrolet was being operated by a 39-year-old male.
The Chevrolet struck the front right of the Mercury.
The driver and passenger of the Mercury were found to have no signs of life on scene by EMS personnel.
The operator of the Chevrolet was transported to Ben Taub Hospital. At 3:08 a.m. on March 16th, 2019, he was declared deceased by doctors at Ben Taub Hospital.
At this time, it is unknown if either operator was intoxicated.
This case is currently open and under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
