Sheriff Deputies and CFFD respond to two deaths in Cypress area

CYPRESS — Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Cy-Fair Fire Department and other local agencies have had their hands full in Cypress and the northwest Harris County area tonight (Jan. 23, 2021) with two deaths.
The first was in southern Cypress, north of the Katy city limits, where a dead body was found in a recently constructed suburb. According to the Cy-Fair Fire Department, medics pronounced an adult male deceased on the scene. The body was reportedly decomposing, and it was believed to be a non-recent death.

The second was in the vicinity of Highway 6 and Highway 290.
According to initial reports from HCSO, deputies found a man who had been shot.

According to the Cy-Fair Fire Department, medics transported the adult male with CPR in-progress to HCA – North Cypress while in critical condition. However, it was later reported that the man died earlier tonight.

According to the HCSO: “On Saturday, January 23rd, 2021, at approximately 8:15 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 12655 Crossroads Park in reference to a shooting.  Upon their arrival on scene, they discovered the complainant, Justin Davis, collapsed in front of his apartment with multiple gunshot wounds.  Davis was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

It was learned by investigators that the complainant had gone outside his apartment and became engaged in some type of confrontation with another black male.  The black male was described as wearing a white muscle shirt and a red hat.  Family members reported hearing gunshots outside the apartment and then discovering the complainant. It is unclear what the motive for the shooting was or what the circumstances were leading up to the shooting.

No other suspect description or vehicle description was available.  Investigators ask that anyone with information regarding the incident contact CrimeStoppers of Houston or the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit.”
