CYPRESS — A deputy with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office has been shot during a traffic stop near Highway 6 and West Road this afternoon. The area was active with police presence around 1:15 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 27, 2019.
Cy-Fair Fire Department medics treated the deputy as Life Flight was en route.
As of 2:10 p.m., Cy-Fair ISD schools in the area ended their lockout procedures, according to the CFISD Police Department.
The sheriff stated that the scene was contained, and a possible suspect caught, at 2:28 p.m.
We have a possible suspect detained. We believe scene is contained and no current threat to community. Due to scene investigation there will continue to be a large police presence in the area, so please avoid if possible. I’m at the hospital & we ask for our community’s prayers.

Cy-Fair crews assist @HCSOTexas with a Deputy who was reportedly shot at a traffic stop near Willancy Ln. and West Rd.
The Deputy was treated by Cy-Fair EMS and transported to Memorial Hermann – TMC in critical condition.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the deputy was taken to a hospital via Memorial Hermann’s Life Flight service.

HCSO personnel are at west road and willancy lane a deputy involved shooting. Deputy has been transported to a local hospital more information to follow.
