Sheriff’s violent crimes unit needs your help to find purse thief


CYPRESS — Violent Crime investigators need the public’s help in identifying a male subject who followed a local woman home and stole her purse as she was exiting her vehicle, in the southern area of Cypress near Bear Creek Park.

On Tuesday June 11, 2109 at 3:40 p.m., a 61-year-old woman was returning to her home in the 5100 block of Hillingworth Court in the Berkshire Subdivision in far west Harris County.

As the victim pulled into her a driveway, the male opened her passenger side door and grabbed her purse sitting on the front seat.

The woman was injured when the male yanked her purse away from her as tried to hold on to it.

He then fled back to a gray Toyota four door sedan and drove away on Hillingworth Court towards Saxon Hollow Lane.

He is described as being about 5’8″ in height weighing 140 lbs., with curly brown hair. He is between 18 and 20 years of age.

Anyone with information is urged to call the HCSO Violent Crimes Unit at 713-274-9100.
