Suspect arrested after assaulting two Precinct 4 deputies

CYPRESS — On September 29, 2018 deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a disturbance call in the 11500 block of Loyola Drive.

Upon arriving deputies observed a male suspect sitting on the roof of his residence throwing bricks at passing vehicles and the surrounding homes. The suspect then began to throw bricks at the deputies and their vehicles, according to police reports.

Deputies attempted to speak with the suspect and calm him down and convince him to come down off the roof, but he refused. Deputies were able to gain access to the roof and attempted to detain the suspect, who resisted and injured two deputies during the struggle. The suspect was detained and identified as Kyle Smith.

“Kyle Smith was arrested, and booked into Harris County Jail, charged with Felony Assault on a Public Servant,” said Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman. “He received No Bond out of the 179th District Court”.
