Suspected drunk driver arrested for attempting to disarm a deputy, retaliation

HARRIS COUNTY — Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a crash involving one vehicle in the 17000 block of State Highway 249, Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018.

The driver was identified as Jaquay Alexander who displayed several signs of intoxication and was found to have 7 misdemeanor warrants, according to police reports.

Constable Deputies detained and transported Jaquay Alexander to a local hospital for precautionary measures due to the crash. Upon arriving to the hospital, Jaquay Alexander attempted to take a deputy’s Taser then made multiple attempts to kick deputies and the hospital staff. After deputies were able to restrain him, he then repeatedly threatened to kill the deputies after his release.

“Jaquay Alexander was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated 2nd Offense, Retaliation, and Attempt to Disarm a Peace Officer,” said Constable Mark Herman. “He received a total bond of $5,500.00 out of County Court 2 and the 337th District Court.”
