KATY — Two weeks ago, one of Constable Ted Heap‘s deputies tried to pull someone over on a routine traffic stop.

That suspect led the officer on a high speed chase near Highway 6, ending in a major crash near Clay Road. As the deputy pulled up to the wrecked car, the suspect jumped out of the window and fired three shots at him, striking his patrol car. The suspect then escaped on foot.

Precinct 5 investigators have managed to identify the suspect, 21-year-old Juan Jesus Guerrero. The officers have obtained an arrest warrant for him, but he is not yet in custody.

The department asks that anyone with information contact them at 281-463-6666.
