Three CFISD schools advance to team tennis regional quarterfinals


CYPRESS — The tennis programs from Bridgeland ® High School, Cypress Woods and Cy-Fair high schools all won their respective playoff matches in the area round of the Class 6A team tennis playoffs and advanced to the regional quarterfinal round. Cypress Ranch and Jersey Village high schools concluded their seasons and finished as area finalists.

Bridgeland ® High School defeated The Woodlands ® College Park High School, 10-7. The Bears advance to face Klein Cain at 3 p.m. on Nov. 2 at Cypress Park High School (7425 Westgreen Blvd.).

Cypress Woods High School beat Aldine MacArthur, 10-3. The Wildcats advance to face The Woodlands at 1 p.m. on Nov. 2 at Klein High School (16715 Stuebner Airline Road).

Cy-Fair High School advanced on a forfeit by Katy Seven Lakes due to a temporary shutdown at the campus. The Bobcats advance to face Memorial from Spring Branch ISD at 3:15 p.m. on Nov. 3 at Memorial High School (935 Echo Lane) in Houston.

Cypress Ranch High School was defeated by The Woodlands ® High School. The Mustangs were District 16-6A’s second seed and finished as area round finalists.

Jersey Village High School was defeated by Katy Tompkins. The Falcons were District 17-6A’s third seed and finished as area round finalists.
