HARRIS COUNTY — According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at 2:31 pm, Gene Holrod was operating a black 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, northbound in the number one lane, in the 14600 block of SH-249.

The HCSO report states that Unit 2 was operating a black 2019 Hyundai Elantra, westbound in the left turn lane, in the 7700 block of Seton Lake Dr. Mr. Holrod disregarded the red light and struck Unit 2, the impact forced Unit 2 to spin approximately three times, further striking a third unit, operated by Elahna Tristan.

Unit 2 was transported to Houston Northwest Medical by Harris County Emergency Crop Medic 93 where he was pronounced deceased at 3:18 pm.

According to the HCSO, Mr. Holrod remained on scene, and did not display any signs of intoxication. Mr. Holrod was cooperative during the investigation.

There were no other reported injuries in this crash. This case remains open and under investigation by the Harris County Vehicular Crimes Division.
