Editor’s Note: The 2018-2019 school year marks a rare occurrence where the UIL has split a school district’s teams into multiple districts. Cy-Fair ISD comprises the majority of Region II’s District 14-6A and Region III’s District 17-6A.

CYPRESS — The high school football coaches across Texas must know something, because they have picked the reigning state champion Bobcats as one of the top teams in all of Class 6A Region III football.

Cy-Ranch tops CFISD’s Region II teams with a No. 8 pick in the region, according to The Athletics Department website. Also receiving preseason recognition was Langham Creek with 18 points.
The Region II Preseason poll was as follows:
1. Allen
2. Spring Westfield
3. Waco Midway (Cy-Fair Bobcats defeated Midway for the 2017 state title)
4. The Woodlands
5. Longview
6. Klein Collins
7. Round Rock Cedar Ridge
8. Cy-Ranch
9t. Garland Sachse
9t. Temple

RESPECT FOR DISTRICT 17-6A
CFISD’s other district, that contains last year’s state champion Cy-Fair Bobcats, resides in Region III.
The Bobcats are picked as the No. 4 team in the region. Following up the champs is Cy-Falls, who received four points, essentially tied for 13th place.
The Region III Preseason poll was as follows:

4. Cy-Fair (reigning 2017 state champions)
5. Houston Lamar
6. Dickinson
7. Fort Bend Ridge Point
