
CYPRESS — According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, “On Monday, February, 1, 2021, at approximately 0250 hours, an unknown female was operating a grey 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound in the 19600 block of US 290. The Chevrolet failed to drive in a single lane, struck the inside divider that separates the eastbound lanes from the HOV lane, and then rolled over. An unknown Hispanic male was unstrained, ejected as a result of the crash, and was found on scene with no signs of life. The operator of the Chevrolet was transported to Ben Taub Hospital, in critical condition, where she underwent surgery. This case remains open and is under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.”
All Eastbound US 290 main lanes are closed due to this incident. All traffic is being diverted off at the West Rd/ N. Eldridge Pkwy exit. @HCSOTexas is investigating.
