Vype predicts state champ Cy-Fair to crash in 2018

CYPRESS — According to the Houston-area-focused edition of Vype magazine’s July edition, the reigning Class 6A Div. II state champion Cy-Fair Bobcats are set to take a huge fall from grace since last December’s amazing 51-35 victory over Waco Midway for the Texas Bowl title.

The magazine predicted that the No. 1 team in Texas has plummeted all the way down and out of not just the top three teams, but out of the top ten. The state champion Bobcats are ranked at No. 11.

Now, realize this isn’t 11th in Texas — this is 11th in the Houston area.

Vype pegged North Shore as the best team in Houston, followed by the perennial Katy Tigers. The Langham Creek Lobos were picked ahead of the state champions, as the No. 5 team in Houston.

In addition the No. 5 Lobos and No. 11 Bobcats, the Cy-Ranch Mustangs were selected as No. 15, the Cy-Falls Golden Eagles were at No. 19, and Cy-Woods was pegged in the “Others to watch” category.
