Wrong-way wreck near Bridgeland Creek Parkway / Grand Parkway leaves motorcyclist dead


CYPRESS — The Cy-Fair Fire Department and Harris County Sheriff’s Office District 4 deputies responded to a fatal wreck on the Grand Parkway, near Bridgeland Creek Parkway, last night.

According to the HCSO, on September 9, 2020, at approximately 01:51 a.m., Michael B. Jemison was driving a green 2020 Kawasaki H2 motorcycle type vehicle traveling northbound, in the southbound lanes of 9700 SH 99.

Jemison drove his motorcycle into the front of a semi-truck, which was traveling southbound, in the southbound lanes of the same roadway. Jemison died as a result of injuries sustaining in the crash.

Ashonti Nared was the driver of the semi-truck, a 2016 Freightliner. Nared did not have any signs of impairment.

Jemison was driving the wrong way on the one-way roadway causing the crash. This crash is being investigated by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.

Cy-Fair Fire Department crews responded to the incident and medics pronounced the patient deceased on-scene.

According to the fire department, the southbound lanes of Grand Parkway were closed for several hours for the traffic fatality investigation.
